White Droid Ultra And Droid Mini Available On Verizon Now

White Droid Ultra And Droid Mini Available On Verizon Now

Just three days ago, it seems that a white colored version of the Motorola Droid Ultra was spotted, where it was headed to Verizon. Of course, until there is an official confirmation concerning that, it would remain but a rumor, so it is a good thing that Verizon is now offering white colored models of not only the Motorola Droid Ultra, but the Motorola Droid Mini as well. This would definitely appeal to those who have always wanted to pick up either smartphone from Verizon, but are not too pleased with the choices of just black and red.

Android devices to see first 64-bit CPUs in 2014

Apple was first to offer a mobile device featuring a 64-bit CPU, but speculation says Android makers will soon follow suit. According to a report from Digitimes, chipmakers including Qualcomm, Nvidia, and Broadcom are expected to introduce CPUs with 64-bit architecture that could make their way into smartphones and tablets sometime during the first half of 2014. The chip designs will be based off of ARM blueprints for their Cortex-A57 and Cortex-A53 silicon, which would closely match the design of Apple's A7 processor.

Australia, New Zealand PS4 Launch Sees Couple Of PSN Features Disabled Temporarily

We did bring you news earlier on that Sony has already taken the step to disable certain PSN (PlayStation Network) features at launch over in Europe when the PS4 arrives, so that it will be a relatively smooth launch without running into any hiccups. Well, it seems that the PS4 launch in Europe alone will not see the turning off of such features, as folks who happen to live in Australia and New Zealand, too, will be on the receiving end of such "preventive" treatment.

Xbox One Takes A .50 Cal Bullet And Also Gets Blown Up

There's nothing like seeing some of the world's most sought after gadgets being heartlessly and mercilessly destroyed. Microsoft's Xbox One certainly falls in that list. On launch day alone, Redmond managed to move over one million units in the initial 13 markets the console was released in. As sales pick up around the world and more people get their hands on the console, its unlikely that many will do what you're about to see here. Known for his habit of firing .50 cal bullets at gadgets, Richard Ryan returns to fire shots at the Xbox One and then blow up what's left of it.

Sony is yet to release the PlayStation 4 in Europe, particularly the UK, and already it looks like the console might have a leg up on its competition, Redmond's Xbox One. The retailer has revealed that PS4′s current pre-orders will make it Amazon UK's fastest selling game console, overtaking the Xbox One. Amazon also said that Sony's latest console is at the top of the PC and Video Gamers pre-order chart as well as the “Most Wished For” list on Amazon UK. However, the retailer didn't reveal just how many PS4 pre-orders have been made in the UK.

It was recently confirmed by China's official state news agency that China Mobile is going to switch on its commercial 4G service on December 18th. On that day it will also finally launch the new iPhones, over the past few months it has been rumored quite a few times that China Mobile is going to carry both iPhones this year. If reports coming out of China are true, the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s might not be the only TD-LTE capable devices that the world's largest mobile carrier launches on December 18th. Samsung's flagship devices might be there to give the iPhones a run for their money.

Chinese University Professor Likens Professional Gaming To Drug Dealing

We have heard stories where excessive gaming has actually lead to death and of course these are extreme cases, but it seems that over in China, the Communist Party's newspaper, the Southern Daily, quoted a university professor by the name of Tao Hongkai where he likened professional gaming to drug dealing. According to Tao, "The damage that violent web games do to players' brains is like the influence of opium on the brain of an addict; this shows that violent web games are internet opium, spiritual narcotics. Earning a living playing web games is like being a drug dealer; this way of living can only harm others and harm yourself.".

Toyota MR2 shows why we still love the 1990s

Was there a better time for Japanese performance than the 1980s and 1990s. It seems like looking back, Japan was on a roll, producing cars that were affordable, economical, reliable, fast and lightweight. And while all the attention is - thanks to a certain film series - focused on cars like Toyota Supra and Mazda RX-7, there is a lesser-known model that's establishing its own enduring legacy without the help of Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. The MR2, affectionately known as the "Mister Two" to fanboys, first arrived in 1984 as a lightweight, mid-engined sports car that proceeded to eat the lunch of the Pontiac Fiero in terms of performance.

It was just yesterday that Microsoft decided to treat us to a video in which the company's Surface 2 tablet was compared against the likes of the iPad Air. This was shortly after Microsoft's latest Scroogled campaign and also shortly after Nokia released a video of their Lumia 2520 that poked fun at the iPad Air as well. In any case it looks like Microsoft is back again and this time they're basically taking the same ad but are comparing it against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, a tablet released by Samsung several months ago.

Verizon has unveiled a new store concept at Mall of America today, highlighting “the internet of things” and how Verizon's communications infrastructure is able to connect our digital lives while at home and on the go. We were lucky enough to attend the store unveiling, but the one thing which caught our attention was actually something a little closer to home – the HTC One max. Verizon did not have a demo unit in the store, but one of the massive interactive touch-screen displays did feature the HTC One max and its price. The on-contract price of the HTC One max was listed at $299.99 or $24.99 per month on Verizon EDGE.

Lamborghini teases engine sound, but of Sesto Elemento or Cabrera?

Lamborghini teases engine sound, but of Sesto Elemento or Cabrera?

Lamborghini has launched a website for something it calls the Hexagon Project. The mysterious page asks that you submit your email address, and then it gives you a taste of glorious V10 engine noise, with the message: "Listen to your instinct. Discover the roar of a new creature from Lamborghini. That will be just the beginning.".
But where is that wonderful noise going to come from? Since we don't see Lambo launching a front-engined, front-drive minivan in the near future, we're guessing it'll be found in the back of some low-slung, edgy super car.

In our minds, that leaves two candidates.

Familiar "Ok Google" hotword arrives on desktop via officia Chrome extension

The “Ok Google” hotword — the phrase spoken to perform a Google Voice Search — is slowly growing into a pop icon. We've watched as its evolved, making its first appearance in Google Glass (albeit under the slightly modified Ok Glass command), to today where it's made its home on our Nexus 5 homescreens. Today, “Ok Google” has finally landed on the desktop via Google's all new extension for the Chrome web browser. Once installed on Chrome, the Google homepage will automatically begin listening for the familiar “Ok Google” command to perform hands-free voice searches. Pretty neat.

Apple's Brick And Mortar Stores Account For 11% Of All U.S. Cellphone Sales

It goes without saying that Apple has a strong hold over the U.S. smartphone market. Back in 2007 the company released its first smartphone and since then it has been strong in the global smartphone market, while enjoying a strong footing on its home turf. According to a survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, Apple's brick and mortar retail stores now account for 11 percent of all retail cellphone sales in the U.S. Its an impressive feat no doubt, given that Apple only sells the iPhone through its retail stores, it doesn't sell any other brand's smartphones.

The figure includes both smartphones and feature phones.

Hardware and setup. The Automatic Link dongle is a small, simple device with a single OBD-II port and a speaker. There really isn't much to it, which is fine because after you locate the port on your car and plug the device in, you might notice it again. Internally, it features a Bluetooth Low Energy module and... we can't think of much else that's worth mentioning. Ultimately, this is just a Bluetooth LE-to-OBD-II bridge, and an expensive one at that.

Ford forced to recall Escape over fire risk yet again

Ford forced to recall Escape over fire risk yet again

Recalls happen. Automakers hope they won't, but they do. And that's alright, for the most part, because cars are designed (and to a large degree still made) by humans, and humans make mistakes. So we forgive them, as long as the problem is resolved. Only in the case of the Ford Escape, the problem seems to keep coming back.

That's why Ford is calling in the Escape yet again due to fire concerns.

It was just last month that Samsung officially announced the Galaxy Round, a device which shared some specs of the Galaxy Note 3, with the main difference being its display which instead of being flat like most displays are, was curved instead, creating a rather unique design and feel to the device. Safe to say that was probably the first smartphone we've seen released to the market that sports a curved display (LG's G Flex came in second not too long after) so it can't be blamed if consumers are a little apprehensive about its usefulness.

Microsoft Might Rename SkyDrive To 'NewDrive'

We reported back in July that Microsoft had settled with UK's BSkyB which had sued it for infringing on its “Sky” brand by calling its cloud storage service SkyDrive. Microsoft has spent considerable resources in building up the SkyDrive brand in the particularly competitive cloud storage niche, however since it opted to settle the lawsuit, it meant that the company will have to rename SkyDrive. BSkyB had agreed to let Microsoft use the brand for a “reasonable” time so that the transition could be made easily. If latest reports are to be believed, Microsoft might be close to picking out a new name.

Japan may be best known, at least among motorcycle enthusiasts, for its sport bikes. But as we found at the Tokyo Motor Show this year, Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are capable of producing all kinds of motorbikes. And to our delight, that includes cafe racers. Along with the myriad electric bikes, dirt bikes, crotch rockets and scooters, the halls of Tokyo's Big Site convention center this year were full of the retro-infused rides we love.

If you own a smartphone, one of the last places you're going to want to put your device into is a toaster. We can't deny that it sounds like a completely crazy time to toast the hell out of your smartphone, but considering how much damage it'll receive in the process, we can see why most people would restrain themselves. But for some reason, designer Mike Charles couldn't fight his urges, thus he created the Foaster. The Foaster is a dock for the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and iPhone 5c that very much resembles a traditional toaster.
