SuperTooth HD Voice In-Car Speakerphone review

SuperTooth HD Voice In-Car Speakerphone review

Not too long ago I had a few Bluetooth earpieces that I mainly used  while driving. I had a few Motorola ones like the H700, plus I have still been using the Plantronics Voyager that I reviewed some time ago that I really enjoy. However, my problem was often that I didn't have the earpiece on when I received a call when I was driving.  would have to fumble to find it in my car, maybe turn it on, fold it open, and then place it in my ear – all the while was I was trying to keep my eyes on the road.

Click & Grow Smartpot flowerpots get even smarter

Click & Grow Smartpot flowerpots get even smarter

Last month I posted a review of the Click & Grow Smartpot flowerpot and had a positive experience with it except for one important thing… Trying to grow a plant in Southern Indiana during the winter months, even with an auto watering flowerpot, just doesn't work that well due to short sunlight hours. The folks at Click & Grow must be listening to mine and others comments, because they have designed a new product looking for funding through Kickstarter. The Smart Herb Garden allows you to grow 3 different plants at one time and offers an LED lamp to make sure the plants always have the right amount of light.

Ferrari F12 races Air Malta A320 jet

Air Malta recently worked up a little stunt that pitted an Airbus A320 against a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta in a drag race to raise funds for charity. It's easy to forget just how quick something the size of a jetliner can be, but watching the video above shows us just where the big passenger aircraft stands when it comes to sprinting down a runway. We won't spoil the clip for you, you'll just have to check out the showdown below. Air Malta says it raised over 178,820 euro with the stunt, which is around $230,000. That's despite the fact that intermittent rain showers kept crowds away.

Blackberry Gaming Platform Advantages, In Select Markets

Ever since the Blackberry Playbook tablet came out with the QNX-based operating system (OS), Blackberry had a software platform that was genuinely gaming capable. That was clearly not the case of previous Blackberry OSes that were all about “security and enterprise” features — at the expense of app performance. With Blackberry 10, a fresh page has been turned and it is also a new opportunity for developers, under certain conditions….

LG Optimus G To Get Off At The Next EOL Stop?

The LG Optimus G is one smartphone that had everything going for it when it was released, but somehow, in one strange way or another, did not manage to sell in large numbers. Taking things into stock four months after its release, a mere 1 million units were sold worldwide, and this has not stopped LG from working with mobile carriers to offer the LG Optimus G Pro, leaving the LG Optimus G behind, of course. Of course, we do know that the pace of consumer electronics move at a breakneck speed these days, but only four months on the market before being persuaded to have it replaced by a sequel.

Evidence of Renault 5 revival discovered during commercial shoot

Renault has exceptional plans for this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, bringing six classic cars, four Formula One cars from this year's season and three current offerings. It will also be showing off two brand-new concepts, one of them gasoline-powered and another that's purely electric, and it's possible that the ICE concept has been spotted in Madrid on a video shoot. If so, it would be appear to be a fresh take on the Eighties-era Renault 5 that would look very nice next to the 1984 Renault 5 Maxi that will be at Goodwood.

2014 Hyundai Equus gallops into New York with first major refresh

Hyundai isn't horsing around with the Equus, its premium luxury sedan offering, for the 2014 model year. As stated in the automaker's press release, "Equus is the number-one shopped premium luxury sedan, well ahead of Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Audi A8, Lexus LS, and Jaguar XJ.". We're not entirely certain what "number-one shopped" means, but regardless, that's some serious company to be rubbing elbows with.

Fuel The Smallest Cellphone Charger In The World

Fuel The Smallest Cellphone Charger In The World

When it comes to modern day smartphones and cellphones, the one Achilles Heel that they have would be the battery life, where for some power users, that would mean the lack of it. Well, whenever you travel, even if just for a day, it is wise and of course advisable to bring around your mobile charger as you can never quite tell just when you need more juice than normal. Most chargers have been minimized in design for some time already, but if there is a chance for change, why not. This is where the Kickstarter project known as Fuel comes in, where it is touted to be the smallest cellphone charger in the world when realized.

Kia has announced it is headed to the Seoul Motor Show with a new sedan concept. Kia wants the vehicle to "appeal to trend-setting urban dwellers," a notoriously car-hungry market. The automaker says the Cub has a cheerful face decorated with two-point LED headlamps just like those found on the Quoris flagship, but the teaser image above looks a bit more sinister than happy to us.

Watches are considered to be a fashion accessory, and there are watches that have been designed merely for show, and watches that have been designed to withstand drops, water immersions and more. While Casio's G-Shock line of watches are pretty impressive in terms of durability, we're thinking it might have a hard time holding its own against the Triggerfish Bronze A2 by German designer, Kaventsmann Uhren. While the watch looks pretty unassuming, it has been put through some pretty rigorous testing, such as being tested at pressures up to 300 bar, as well as being detonated with C-4 explosives.

The way computing (mobile or otherwise) has changed works this way – no longer do you be the biggest and baddest force in the market simply because your product has the best hardware specifications. There is no point in having the best hardware when you do not have the right kind of software to support it. Massive Alberta highway pileup sends 300 people to hospital after crash

A massive pileup in Canada was the result of a huge snowstorm that struck a busy stretch of Alberta highway between Edmonton and Calgary near Leduc, sending over 300 people to the hospital and causing what Alberta Health Services are treating as "a mass casualty event.". Reports on social media indicate hundreds of cars, transport trucks and buses ended up smashed and scattered across both directions of the highway, with many vehicles being violently tossed around or landing in ditches. Unsurprisingly, Royal Canadian Mounted Police are blaming blowing snow, icy road conditions and poor visibility for the countless crash pileups.

Cummins and Peterbilt have created a new demonstration tractor trailer that boasts a 54-percent increase in fuel economy over current trucks. This particular Class 8 Peterbilt 587 uses a high-efficiency Cummins ISX15 engine and managed to average 9.9 miles per gallon over 11 runs over the 312-mile route between Fort Worth and Vernon, TX with a gross combined weight of 65,000 pounds. For comparison's sake, most modern trucks manage between 5.5 and 6.5 mpg. For most long-haul truck drivers, an increase in fuel economy of 54 percent would equate to a savings of around $25,000 per year at current diesel prices.

New Artificial Retina Doesn't Need External Power Source

New Artificial Retina Doesn't Need External Power Source

The technological advancements in medicine are often overlooked by the general public. Fact remains though that some amazing work is being done in this field. Take the new P3HT polymer for example, which can be used to create an artificial retina. It does not need any external power source like other artificial retinas for which a stimulator box is required. Other than the incident light, an artificial retina created out of P3HT polymer requires no power (other than the incoming light, which makes us wonder how well this works in low-light situations).

The research team behind this demonstrate that this polymer is not toxic to neurons.

BMW is a market leader in luxury and high performance cars. However, fuel hungry cars are not the only thing that BMW makes. The company has formally cruised in to the electric bike market with their latest offering, the Cruise e-bike. The bike has a 250-watt electric motor that is capable of speeds up to 25 km/h with a range of 85km. The motor is there to assist the rider and not power the Cruise on its own, because that would then make it a motorbike, which the Cruise is not.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is always looking for new ways to make America's highways safer, and this latest test checks out the crashworthiness of one of the most overlooked vehicles on the road: tractor trailers. Pointing out design flaws inherent in semi trailers during rear-end collisions, the IIHS performed three different tests on eight of the most popular semi trailers on the market including a full-width impact, a 50-percent overlap (where only half of the car makes contact with the trailer) and a narrower overlap where only 30 percent of the car hits the trailer.
