Many spelled the end for TweetDeck when Twitter acquired the premier social networking client for $40 million in 2011. The application hasn't completely died just yet, but its mobile apps have been pretty much abandoned. The only significant work we've seen out of TweetDeck since the deal went down were new developments for the web/Chrome app, as well as new native apps for both Windows and Mac. With that, we can't say we're too surprised by today's news that TweetDeck will be retiring its mobile apps – including TweetDeck for Android — as well as its Adobe AIR app.
