T-Mobile Apologizes for Android Notification Bar Advertisements and Removes Them

As we have previously reported, a photo taken by our friends over at TmoNews, showed that T-Mobile had sent out advertisements to some users' Android based smartphones. An outcry broke out in several forums in what seemed to be T-Mobiles latest forage into mobile-based advertising. However, the issue has now come to a rest with T-Mobile clarifying the situation and stopping the advertisements. According to the report by TmoNews, a T-Mobile spokesperson had sent them a statement stating that the carrier had discovered the cause of the Android notification bar ads and removed them.
