Buying official accessories is usually an expensive affair, even if it for something as simple as a charging cable, which is why it is not surprising that there are some who turn to third-party, and sometimes unofficial, alternatives in a bid to save money. Well it seems that in a bid to help users identify that their cables might not be the real thing, or to warn them that using third-party accessories might not be stable, Apple has included a new feature in iOS 7 that will actually prompt users (via Apple Insider) when they attempt to connect an unofficial Lightning cable to their iOS device.
