Georgia Tech develops poultry deboning robot / chicken nightmare machine

If you have any chickens in the house, you're going to want to keep them away from the computer. Georgia Tech researchers have developed the device that will haunt their feathered dreams. The prototype Intelligent Cutting and Deboning System has a built-in 3D vision system in order to help it cut and debone a chicken. The robot uses collected data and custom algorithms to help reduce bone fragments and increase yield on birds, whilst ensuring that no fowl with ever get a full night's sleep again. The school has begun testing the system, as evidenced by the unfortunate bird picture above.

Motorist dies after being poisoned by airbag in minor crash

According to the coroner's office, Ronald Smith of Mardsen, South Shields in the UK "died as a result of the car crash and more pointedly because of the explosion of his airbag, and exposure to noxious substances.". According to IOL Motoring, Smith had been involved in a six-car accident in November of 2010 on his way home from work. While he wasn't physically injured in the crash, Smith inhaled the noxious contents of his airbag, which he said amounted to gases and a bunch of white powder, when an errant shard of glass punctured the bag.

Volkswagen Scirocco GTS commemorates 30-year anniversary of original

It's been 30 years since the very first Volkswagen Scirocco GTS rolled off the assembly line. Featuring little more than a slightly reworked front valance and some trippy decal work, the original Scirocco GTS was likely most notable for the fact that it was the first in the family to rock a blacked-out B-pillar. Now Volkswagen is paying homage to the machine with a new Scirocco GTS. Unveiled at the Auto Mobil International, the modern hatch rocks the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, complete with 210 horsepower, as the rest of the Scirocco range.

Should this happen, and the real world performance figures jive as close as possible to what was advertised, then it is safe to assume that this will most probably be the highest speed US residential service to date. Other rivals in this highly competitive area that Verizon is involved in include Cablevision Corp., Time Warner Cable Inc., and Comcast Corp., not to mention being the very same rivals in the TV segment as well.

Telus and Videotron have both confirmed the leaked June 20th release date, and Telus has gone so far as to reinforce suspicions that LTE models will use the Snapdragon S4 instead of the Exynos 4 Quad - it expects the phone to use a "1.5GHz dual-core processor," which sure sounds like Qualcomm's latest to us.

Fiat Chairman John Elkann says his company has no plans to purchase a stake in Mazda, according to Reuters. Instead, the Italian automaker will focus its efforts on increasing its share of Chrysler to more than 60 percent. Right now, Fiat owns 58.5 percent of Chrysler, though the European company has made it clear that at some point in the future, it would like that figure to be closer to 100 percent. The organization recently tested the Ford Focus SFE, Chevrolet Cruze Eco and Honda Civic HF to determine whether the cars' annual fuel savings actually offset the additional cost of opting for the package to begin with. During their mixed city and highway loop testing, the Ford actually fared the best by returning 31 mpg overall. That's three miles per gallon better than the standard Focus SE, and represents an annual fuel cost savings of just $145.
