It can be said that Motorola was saved from the brink by Google's Android operating system, where their Droid smartphone helped them win fans, old and new ones alike. Since then, Motorola has not looked back one bit since then, and have churned out a series of extremely impressive smartphones along the way. As for the original Droid, it is now in the third iteration, aptly known as the Droid 3. It seems that the Motorola Droid 3 might be getting an update pretty soon, as the developer community managed to come across a couple of new builds which can be flashed in stock recovery without having to root the device.
