Google could take on Siri with ‘Majel' for Android

. Google is reportedly working on a solution that will boost the capabilities of Voice Actions on Android smartphones and compete head-to-head with Apple's digital assistant, Siri. The product, currently code-named “Majel,” could launch by the end of this year, AndroidandMe reported recently. Much like Siri, Majel will let Android users issue queries using conversational speech instead of having to use one of a few compatible commands. The initial release will not allow users to control the phone or any installed applications according to the report, but those functions may launch next year.
