ST-Ericsson's NovaThor U9500, U8500 and U5500 chipsets will be powering the future Nokia WP-powered phones. The information is official and confirmed by the ST-Ericsson CEO himself. All three chipsets that ST-Ericsson currently offers pack dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processors, NEON CPU extensions, ARM Mali 400 graphic cores and LP-DDR2 RAM.
The U8500 and U9500 platforms support up to 1080p video recording, 20MP still image capturing. Those chipsets support resolutions up to 1280x768 pixels on a single display or 1024x760 pixels simultaneously on two displays.
