Microsoft announced the new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets last month and even started taking pre-orders, but it is yet to release the new tablets to the public. The official release date is October 22nd and to celebrate the launch of Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, the company will be holding midnight launch events in 10 of its retail stores across the country. Those who haven't put in their pre-orders will be able to walk in and pick up a new Surface tablet at midnight, the launch festivities will actually kick off at 10 pm, October 21st, in the respective time zones.
